We all are ‘looking’ for opportunities in our lives, we are looking for work prospects, for love opportunities, for religious opportunities. Many of us are disappointed because we don’t feel that we have many that come our way. I do not think that is so, I think that we have many more opportunities than we realise we have.
Sometimes opportunities come dressed in ‘overalls’ not in party clothes, in other words, sometimes the opportunity may not look like what we are expecting. The opportunity may come in work clothes, meaning that it will require you to put in a lot of effort.
Sometimes a boulder seems to roll right in front of your opportunity, something which is a big obstacle. An obstacle which is too big to see over, sometimes, if we get on top of the ‘boulder’ we can see things from a different perspective, it puts us in a new position, one which will make other opportunities available, ones which were NOT available previously!
Albert Einstein once said something like,
“In the middle of every difficulty lies an opportunity”
So what we see is that we are not to look at set-backs as a time to quit, but rather as an opportunity to see it from a different angle, a time to rethink, to re-evaluate, to try a new idea, you never know, it may be the best idea you have ever had!
In Scripture we see many examples of this happening over and over. You see a jailer being converted, not long after whipping and putting the Apostles into stocks. You see young shepherd boy taking an opportunity to defeat a giant and give hope to the nation, which was struggling battling with its faith.
You can do the same!
Once again, we do not intend to ‘run’ your life for you. The choices are yours to make, but you need to know all of the facts to make a good decision. Do not just accept what has been written, read the scriptures for yourselves and see what God has said.
