If you are like me then you will also like to be praised for having done a good job. Unfortunately it does not happen as often as we would like.

Can you imagine what it would be like if we heard these words from God.

‘Well done you good and faithful servant.’

Well deserved praise can sometimes be more important than to have financial remuneration but this is more important than anything.

God has given praise in the past, listen to what He says about Abraham.

James 2:23

23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend

Imagine what it would be like to be called God’s friend! What an awesome compliment.

Listen to what He says about Moses,

Ex 33:11

The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend .

Can you think what it would be like to have God sitting across the table and talking to you face to face. God also spoke of king David in a positive way.

Acts 13:21-22

22 After removing Saul, he made David their king. He testified concerning him: 'I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart ; he will do everything I want him to do.

Even with all of David’s failings he was still said to be a ‘man after God’s own heart’.

How will we get this kind of praise from God?

We will also get praise from God if we obey Him.

1 John 2:5-6

5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

If we ‘walk’ as Jesus did then we will get praise from God. God wants obedient people not ‘good’ people.

Once again, we do not intend to ‘run’ your life for you. The choices are yours to make, but you need to know all of the facts to make a good decision. Do not just accept what has been written, read the scriptures for yourselves and see what God has said
